We all know that creating an exceptional relationship isn’t easy at times. For most of us, hardly a day or two goes by without being confronted with at least a minor disagreement or skirmish. So why do we keep at it? Perhaps it's because we know deeply that relationship is central to our humanity. To engage another is to find oneself. There is no autonomous enlightenment. We discover ourselves through the mirror of others and the more involved the relationship the greater capacity to evolve and transcend our limits.
In this time of change, we believe that the committed relationship is the cornerstone of planetary healing. As we learn to overcome the inevitable challenges of living and sharing with a partner, we learn to cultivate empathy, altruism, and intimacy. We learn how to discover our passion, share a bed with diversity, embrace conflict with love, awaken to varying points of view, and doggie paddle in the sea of absurdity. To live with another means being able to experience both the sublime and the absurd. If we can't get along with and learn from our life partners we don't stand much of a chance as a planet. That's how we see it anyway.
